Late last week, WaterFilters.NET – a company I founded with my family ten years ago while I was still in college – was awarded a Hire Power Award from Inc.com. With this award, we have been officially recognized as a top job creator in our home state of Minnesota.
Over the years, our company has been lucky enough to win awards ranging from Best Place to Work to our recent 5-peat on the Inc. 5000. But to be recognized as top job creator, for me, may just be one of our more special achievements.
Daily at our company, every one of our employees focuses on what their individual jobs do to serve our customers and improve the world as a whole. While this mantra focuses primarily on providing clean drinking water for all those in need across the globe, this is a need that cannot be met without first meeting our needs at home. Having the ability to change the lives of new team members by bringing them into our fold provides us with the resources we need to support our global mission.
Connectedly, the larger our team grows – the more customers we are able to serve. The more customers we serve, the more we are able to donate to the water-based charities and organizations that receive a portion of all our profits. Below, is a photo of a drinking water well in the Ethiopian community of May Shintro that our profits helped charity: water to build.
Finally, the need for a larger team means that there are more water filter orders that we need to fill. To me, this is an absolutely incredible indicator of how our economy is recovering. Even with discretionary income for most of us being less than we may be accustomed to, we do see the value in spending on products that will contribute to the long-term health and well-being of everyone in our households (pets included, of course.)
There is no way this award could have been achieved without the loyalty of those that have trusted us for years to provide the water filters and filtration products they need. If you have been a regular customer, I truly thank you. If you have yet to purchase from us, I hope that you provide our team – our much larger team, that is – the opportunity to serve you in the very near future.
